Announcing My Certification as a Divorce Specialist
Divorce changes everything, including the largest financial decision most couples ever made together: their home. I am pleased to share that I have earned the Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS®) designation through the National Association of Divorce Professionals. The CDS® program is an intensive professional training built around specialized communication skills for client sessions, along with the legal, financial, mental health, and real estate knowledge integral to the divorce process. Graduates are equipped to work on both low and high-conflict divorce cases and join an international directory of certified specialists spanning the legal, financial, mental health, and real estate professions.

Florida consistently ranks among the top ten states in the nation for divorce. The state's divorce rate of 3.4 per 1,000 residents sits well above the national rate of roughly 2.4. Florida's circuit courts processed 70,823 dissolution of marriage filings in a single fiscal year, roughly 194 filings per day. Marriages that end in divorce in Florida last an average of about 8 years, meaning many of these couples own property together, often with meaningful equity at stake.
Here on the Space Coast, that equity is significant. The median single-family home price in Brevard County stands at $375,000, and our market has settled into a balanced rhythm, with steady buyer demand and tight inventory. In this environment, timing, pricing strategy, and neutral guidance determine whether a divorcing couple protects their equity or leaves it on the table.
